I have known copyright lawyers--not specifically those specializing in software, which is not my area at all, but I know there is a process. You really do need to work with someone to guide you through the validation process so that you can copyright. Maybe just do some "lay person" type internet research first on software copyrighting and then pay for a consultation with an expert?
