In fact, I think the producers want her on the show. Her over-the-top, stupid comments direct public attention.

McCain’s views are odious but her antics get people talking.

Try to keep in mind that media — virtually all media — is owned by rich people. They want to make money, and that’s why some programs and people sink or swim.
