Meghan McCain and Joy Behar got heated on Thursday’s The View, going after each other over Dr. Anthony Fauci’s Covid-19 vaccine messaging.
“You know, he has to be diplomatic for some reason,” Behar said of Fauci’s messaging. “He doesn’t want to upset people. He doesn’t want to step on people’s civil liberties. But I don’t have to be that way.” Behar went on to question what has been so complicated about the messaging on vaccines ... “I don’t understand. Maybe they’re not seeing enough on television the way people suffer when they get this disease. Even though the numbers are going down, people are still dying from it.”
McCain slammed Fauci’s messaging around the vaccine as “absolute garbage,” adding that the CDC and the White House have a “done a terrible job” with the COVID vaccine. “The fact that there hasn’t been a summit, or a discussion, or figures that people trust on TV to try and help quell some of this, that’s why the conspiracy theories keep growing and spreading,” McCain said.
Behar then said that a lot of people who don’t want to get vaccinated are watching Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson, which McCain claimed is not true. McCain claimed those who are hesitant to take the vaccine are “highly educated women.”
