2. I read the book and adored it.

Yes, it was depressing, so very depressing, but she never gave up. She got out in the end of the book and that was such a hopeful message. I know the show goes a lot further since my son told me that and I do want to get to that part. Its just seeing it is so much more real than reading it. It affects me a lot more. I haven't been able to watch an episode since the 4th one. There's just too much bad depressing stuff going on and I see the US as being more like that every day and it makes me sick! I will watch the rest, eventually, when my personal life isn't hell and I am not in total fear for our democracy.
