The earliest version of Lassie I had any memory of was the Timmy and Lassie edition. Which made me think that was the original version. Much later I realized that the original was with Tommy Rettig.

My most vivid memory was the version where Lassie had finally dumped Jeff and Timmy. Lassie would be out there every Sunday night on my tv wandering around aimlessly in the woods by himself. Sometimes with the help of some Park Ranger?
