Everyone expected him to run for something as soon as he retired, but he got hit with a scandal in the form of several paternity suits at that time. Interesting that he’s willing to try now, when he’s in his mid-‘70s and, frankly, few voters would remember him as the one-time star of the Dodgers and Padres.

Anyway, baseball and the Senate are generally a bad fit. Anyone remember Jim Bunning?
