there are tourist spots, fishing, camping, float trips, historical sites, etc. that people flock to, all will be messed up, leaving the 'natives' left to deal w/ the mess. There are, to be fair, some organizers that do stay after some of these events, and do try to clean up after themselves.

The Tahoe mess, however, is a whopper. Just Wow.
