working class to keep from getting priced out of their neighborhoods. Property taxes were kept close to the same as when the property was/is purchased. In Beverly Hills, you might have a multimillion dollar mansion with property taxes of $300,000 per year right next door to a property taxed at $4,000 per year. But, Pacific Palisades is not a middle class neighborhood. At least not since the late 80's. 5 years ago, a 2 bedroom townhouse could start at 2 million.
