8. BS. I see it all the time--for decades-- in Estes Park in Colorado

These idiots try to get the elk's attention and get way too close. In Rocky Mountain National Park, it is even worse. And, I experienced tons of tourists in Yellowstone trying to get selfies with the bison--even putting their toddlers on the bison's back. Ask any National Park Ranger what they see and then you tell me that irresponsible human behavior is not behind 99.99% of these incidents. Just because some diplomatic wildlife employee chose to not embarrass the old idiot does not make it so. That it happened at all means he was TOO CLOSE.
