I saw people walking around dressed for much warmer than it was.

A strong cold front will move across the D.C. area Sunday, with heavy rain, rumbles of thunder and gusty winds. However, the highest winds are expected behind the front around 3 p.m. With gusts approaching 60 mph. A high wind warning is in effect for the entire D.C. area. Some trees may be blown down and power outages are possible. Winds will decrease some at night, but remain windy overnight, as gusts continue to approach 40 mph. Temperatures will fall below freezing.

Winds remain strong out of the northwest Monday, gusting up to 40 mph. Temperatures will stay below-average in the upper 30s.

A quiet day is expected Tuesday, before a winter storm moves into the mid-Atlantic.

Complete storm preparations Wednesday morning, as snow is expected to begin in the late afternoon. Plan for heavy snow during the evening through the overnight.
