Another chance of severe weather is likely for the D.C. region Friday afternoon with storms on the way.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the suburbs south of D.C. until 8 p.m.

Storm Team4 meteorologist Mike Stinneford says the storms may produce “damaging winds and heavy rainfall.”

He said before 2 p.m. that the storms began in Dumfries, Virginia, and stretched south to Richmond, with some funnel clouds spotted in those areas along I-95.
