1. I'm sorry, OrlandoDem, but the total dismantling is well advanced.

I could not in good conscience let a child of mine attend university in Florida given how DeSantis has destroyed their freedom to teach. And for those Florida or Miami NCAA football fans--if you think this isn't going to impact those schools too, I've got news for you. Sure, Miami can muster the massive NIL$$ to recruit a Carson Beck or Cam Ward and FL has had its share too, but that will not a successful university enrollment ensure. And then there are all the residents and interns that FL's medical schools will NOT be competitive for--even the Mayo folks can't recruit an OB/GYN residency class (for obvious reasons). And... the smaller universities that once offered competitive undergrad programs for any number of fields? 'Can't keep good faculty or recruit them, given the political realities.

So, I share your concerns, but the damage is far broader than a single University President stepping down.

I came back to Colorado many years ago when it was still bright red, so I am in your corner and rooting for you to turn things around. I have to think that this country won't be permanently down and out so that your efforts might be realized one day. At least I hope so. But, damn if it is not going to be a rough ride. I don't mean to be negative, but I believe in being realistic. As I said, Colorado was once nearly in the same boat.
