On choisit ses amis pas sa famille. It means litterally : we chose our friends not our family.

I have a cat too, I'll try to find a pic. I don't know what breed is, he has long hair, green eyes, I named him Schumaker because he would probably win the race against Speedy Gonzales...
I found him a few years ago on my step door and since, he became a member family and he drives me crazy too... 
Pretty stubborn and go figure why, he loves to take a little (or big) nap on clothes I just laundered...never on dirty ones...
I have a lot of space around the house and many street cats live on. I feed them, they know it but very few approach. I even have a deer with her fawn. She don't come too close but she is not afraid of me. I feed her with potatoes and vegetable peels, especially in winters. I have a pic too somehere.
