3. Shoot we were there before Covid shutdown.

Not saying it’s untrue.


It is exciting and encouraging to participate in re-imagining new models for sustainable tourism.

I doubt we will ever see the numbers we had before, and that’s crushing for many families.

The crisis has lifted the veil here as in other communities on the underlying social problems we face.

15 people in a two bedroom house, 11 of them are Covid positive so far.

These kinds of living arrangements are not unusual here among some communities.

I’m seeing our homeless population become much thinner. In some cases, more aggressive, in others, seeming like they wait for the end.

The musubis and apples I give are well received but that’s a bandaid, though necessary in the moment.

How do we emerge from this better than before?

How do we emerge from this at all?

Those academic conversations about how much of our tax burden is carried by visitors via GET are academic no more.
