Hawaii has a slightly different culture than much of the rest of the United States. We have the highest number of multi-generation households - family bond and shame run strong.

And fuck ice...No ice in paradise brah.

Also, the professional help is decidedly 12-Step for the most part, and that doesn't exactly work either. I've seen it myself. Their approach isn't totally far off, but they haven't handled fame well.
