where are we headed [View all]

Citizens United has been disastrous for our elections. Turns out, it may have just been the start. There's another case on the horizon that has the capacity to let loose even more outside money in politics. That's right. More special interest money.

Last year, we had one of the most expensive Senate races in the country. More than $40 million was spent against us. We can't afford to let our elections devolve to where $40 million buys an election.

The Koch brothers' special interest group is running ads in Ohio right now. If we let special interests continue this march toward buying elections, we'll be back in the dark ages before you know it.
If Karl Rove, the Koch brothers, and their special interest friends had their way, our elections would be auctions.

But that's not how our democracy is supposed to work. Our elected officials are supposed to work for middle class families, not big money corporate interests.
