some do well depending on location, cook staff and cleanliness; We tip well because my wife was a waitress when I met her. She done well and at the time she was a licensed nurses aid in the largest hospital in Maine! But she could make more working in a dinner as a waitress. You must remember that $10.10 is entry level pay and long over due. If you live in Maine you know that wages are low -to f'n low to survive with out both working. Look at the wages in the other New England states they make as much as 10-12k more than us. Ever shop in New Hampshire-prices cheaper wages higher! MA. SAME THING,CT SAME THING VERMONT ABOUT A SAME. SO when you hear that loud mouth in the coffee shop or at the water cooler or break room see if he isn't the boss's snitch, mr brown nose or a distant relative. I use to luv to listen to one guy rant and rave about how much
labor cost, he was a deacon in his church and the town moderator at town meeting(u young'uns don't know what thatis) well we had our pay ck'd on an interstate job because it was federaly funded(90% oh that was a republican who made that uncle sugar pay 90% we called him Ike) and low and behold the company was getting $2 a day for our lunches in expense money. Since at 19 I was elected to be on a committee for employees MY IMMEDIATE BOSS MADE ME ADDRESS THE OWNER WHICH I DID WITH HIM STANDING BESIDE ME. WELL CAMILE GOT A LITTLE EXCITED SO HE BLURTED OUT I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WOULD STEAL FROM US-YOU BEING SUCH A STRONG BABTIST. SO THE BOSS SAID TO ME WHAT DO YOU THINK JOE " AND I REPLIED I THINK CAMILE HAS A POINT AND THE BOSS REPLIED I THINK ITS JUST GOOD BUSINESS. AND I REPLIED WELL YOU OWE ME OVER 20WEEKS AT $10 A WEEK AND THEIR WERE 12 OF US ON THAT PROJECT SO THATS QUITE A BIT OF MONKEY BUSINESS TO PAY BACK! THE SHORT END OF IT WAS THEY HAD TO GO BACK 3 YEARS AND PAID -BUT WAS CAUGHT AGAIN THE YEAR AFTER I LEFT THEM FOR NOT PAYING TIME AND ONE HALF ON A FEDERAL MILITARY BASE! AND THATS HOW SOME MAINE BUSINESSES OPERATED IN THE 50'S!
