3. A question for my well informed friends here...why do we still spend billions

of our tax dollars on war ships? 1942 was the last time (as far as i can tell) that the U.S. was attacked by sea?
Aren't these things just boondoggles to spend our tax dollars on?

I know, I know....what is more important to the American people than spending money on war machines, right? We are the richest country in the world. It's not like we need new roads, bridges, homes for the homeless or healthcare for the sick.
