I have a thing for manual transmissions and both of my cars are stick shifts. When my 2020 Impreza showed up in a search and it was just a couple towns away, I bought it sight unseen because I'd waited for years to get that car with a stick.

I think it goes back to the first time my oldest brother tried to teach me how to drive a stick. After the lesson was over he said to me, "you're just going to have to drive automatics because you're too much of a klutz to drive a stick." So that was 50 years ago and I've never bought an automatic.

When I got to the dealer to pick up my car, the sales manager told me a joke. Two guys are walking from the car into a restaurant or whatever and one tells the other "you didn't lock your car." The driver just says, "It's a stick."
