The funeral in Worcester. Thanks to all firefighters. [View all]

I happened to turn on the TV this AM to hear the local news. What I saw was the funeral service for the recently killed Worcester firefighter, Mr Davies.

I don't usually watch this type of televised event but I must tell you that the Catholic service for this brave man was impressive.

I subscribe to no faith and have never thought much about it. You either believe or not.

As I watched the procession and the service, I hoped these services were a comfort to the family of this fallen hero.

I thank him and all those other firefighters who serve us in ways we never think about.

I hope Firefighter Davies is at peace and that his family finds comfort in all the support from the thousands who attended or lined the route to the church and cemetery.
