1. I moved here after spending 40 years in California.

I could have moved to anywhere in North America. I chose Minnesota after careful consideration of state and local governments, tax rates, job opportunities and unemployment rates, amenities and arts, education, health care, transportation and other factors.

My short list also considered Oregon, Montana, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama.

I'm absolutely thrilled to be here and know I chose well.
