Schnall (D) backs Wyatt Earp (D) for another term as county chairman [View all]
Assemblyman Avi Schnall (D-Lakewood), the highest-ranking Democratic official from Ocean County, today endorsed Wyatt Earp for re-election as county chairman.
Earp, the chairman for the last 21 years, faces Stafford Democratic Club President Alison Miller, a progressive leader. Miller has recruited candidates for vacant county committee seats in next weeks primary election.
In 2023, Schnall became the first Democrat from Ocean County to serve in the New Jersey Legislature since 1991 when he ousted Republican incumbent Ned Thomson (R-Wall).
I first got to know Wyatt three and a half years ago, when I launched what was said to be an improbable run for the State Assembly in one of the reddest districts in New Jersey. Most political observers wrote the race off before it began. Wyatt didnt. From day one, he offered his help, his incredible work ethic, and the kind of incisive political insight that you cannot teach and cannot fake, said Schnall. With Wyatt in our corner, we did what almost no one believed was possible: we flipped the seat in a landslide victory.
