work at Christus St. Vincent Hospital. At the information desk, so if you ever come by there between 4pm and 8pm on a week night, that will by my smiling face you see.

Anyway, Christus is a Catholic group, which means no abortions, which means I do have a certain ethical problem working there. Since I am personally well past the age of possibly needing such a service, I honestly have no idea where in this city a woman might go to who need such a thing.

And the idea that late term abortions only happen because a woman makes a last minute decision not to have the baby is beyond offensive.

Both times that I was pregnant I was very sensitive to things that might have made me want to terminate the pregnancy. I had a certain amount of genetic testing. The second time I was an older mother, 38, and my OB was quite nervous that I didn't test for Down's syndrome. Personally, I felt that was something I could live with, but I would NEVER judge another woman who could not live with that. In the end, I had completely normal children. Well, the first one turns out to have Asperger's Syndrome, but honestly, nothing actually serious.

How can I, or you, or anyone else, tell a particular woman (along with her partner) that she absolutely MUST have this particular child. Excuse me? What I can deal with may well be completely different from what you can deal with. You must be the one to make your own decisions.

I really hate people who think they can decide stuff for me.
