1. When the winds are howling 30-50, the big city rarely gets a flake

It flies above us and gets plastered against the Sandias or the volcanoes to the west. The winds died down after midnight and allowed us about 2 inches, the tail end of the precip. It was off pavement by 9 AM. It's still cold out there, but at least the wind has gone. It was brutal.

Still, I'm glad it's on the mountains. We've had so little snowpack out west for so many years that it's a delight to see.
