But this part!

It had no egg or cream. Egg possibly came from the Yiddish echt ("genuine or real" . So Egg Cream essentially meant "good cream."

My mind is blown! One of the great mysteries of life is solved!!! (PS: They're good with Hershey's syrup too.)
