Public schools in many parts of NC are a mess. My wife went through CMS (Charlotte) schools in the nineties primarily, and they were a disaster then. And public school teachers have received little aside from abuse & contempt since then. But the solution is NOT to further de-fund them, and channel the dollars to private institutions.
