The article is a bit hard to follow, but oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev, the guy who bought Donald Trumps Florida mansion at way above market rates, owns a piece of a start-up that received tax incentives from the state. To make it even more murky, McCrory privatized the economic development department in 2014, so there is a bunch of private donations in the mix. Who knows what they are up to or who is involved. Rybolovlev's plane has also been sighted in airports across the country at the same time as Trump's, including once in Concord. They claim no collusion, but they are both known liars and the coincidences are hard to ignore.

Are McCrory and the NC GOP mixed up in this somehow? If you follow NC GOP social media closely, they use a low rent version of Russian social media disruption tactics to mislead their supporters and sow confusion. Is it bad imitation, or are they actually on the team?



I dunno. Seems crazy, but after the crazy I see everyday now, interesting to think about.
