Why so many no party people? [View all]

Noticing 36% dems, 26% repub, 30% no party per wiki.

I am new to Oregon moved here end of Sept, lived in CA and WA all my life. At first still angry at DNC I put no party when we got drivers licenses.

Then when I found out its a closed primary state I changed back to democrat.

So wondering who most of the no party are? Independents? Angry people on left or right? People sick of both parties?

I found a candidate I really like for district two Jamie McCleod Skinner but I think she might be too far left to get the mainstream democrats vote in primary. The guy who ran last time that seems that way lost by a lot last time.

The number one thing I notice different about here in Medford are no one talks politics, people are friendly, I can tell by some things they say they are republican. They care a lot about guns here even before latest shooting when I mentioned guns all I talked to seemed to have them. I was happy to hear they want more control on them and lock up good.
