he might have been a legit (however "legit" anyone in the GOP could potentially be) "contender" since he has some name recognition in his position in the state Senate (including generational familial ties in politics in the state).

But IMHO, all of them are nothing but a basketful of deplorables (and that includes both McSwain and the ass Joe Gale, who are both from here in the east).
