Come to Vermont. Chances are, you wont regret it.
During my hour-long outing today.... I drove an elderly neighbor to a local garage so she could pick up her car with the new snow tires. The mechanic told her he would deliver her old (still usable) summer tires after work because he didnt want her to have to lift them.
Quick stop at our tiny village store. At the counter was a large donation jar near several paper hand-outs asking folks to be aware there is a family in town that has no vehicle now and needs help finding a car so the husband can keep working. The jar, for donations to help that family get a car, had cash in it. Cash, willingly given, in my small, poor town.
Next village over, I stopped at the Post Office. On a table in the entrance way was a basket. HELP YOURSELF...little candies, random knickknacks, things from nature, magazines, etc.
One hour, two tiny villages. Believe me....I could go out for an hour tomorrow, head in a different direction, come home and write something similar.
