'West Virginia Billboard Campaign Calls on Sen. Manchin to Lower Drug Prices by Voting for the Build Back Better Act.' Dec. 6, 2021. SocialSecurityWorks.org.
(Washington, DC) Today, Social Security Works launched a mobile billboard campaign calling on Senator Joe Manchin to keep his promise to lower drug prices by immediately voting for the Build Back Better Act.
The billboards will spend the next 2 weeks visiting municipal buildings, senior centers, and nursing homes throughout West Virginia, including Morgantown, Charleston, Wheeling, Martinsburg, Clarksburg, Parkersburg, and Huntington. Republican, Democratic, and independent voters all overwhelmingly support Build Back Betters drug pricing provisions.
Right now, 85% of West Virginians think that prescription drugs are unreasonably expensive. Joe Manchin can take on pharma greed right now with a simple vote, said Troy Miller, West Virginia Organizer at Social Security Works.
Manchin needs to listen to the overwhelming majority of West Virginians who are demanding lower drug prices and he needs to vote for Build Back Better immediately. ~
