Former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who recently failed to get an endorsement at her state party's convention, has now been snubbed by the former president of the United States. Donald Trump also rejected the legislator who's been parroting the Big Lie from the beginning.

Once upon a time, making false charges about election integrity would get you moved to the political margins, but Rep. Timothy Ramthun (R-Campbellsport) was an early adoptee of the Big Lie from former President Donald Trump—the one that sparked a violent insurrection and poisons our politics to this day.

Many believed Ramthun would be a shoe-in for getting endorsed by Trump in Wisconsin's race for governor. Instead, Trump endorsed the other Tim in the race—Tim Michels.

The timing of the announcement could not have been worse for Ramthun: one day after the filing deadline if he had wanted to change his mind and try to keep his Assembly seat.

The Trump endorsement was also another body blow to former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, fresh off the embarrassment of being rejected for a formal endorsement by delegates at the Republican state convention.
