Though Evers repainted her at the end of her term, Republicans don't support Hern and want her removed.She refuses to resign. There is precedent. Walker appointed someone to the DNR. When Evers became govenor he wanted to replace The walker DNR appointee at the end of his appointed term. He refused to leave. The court supported the gentleman's design not to resign.
