1. The problem with the first referendum ...

Was that nobody who voted to leave really knew what they were voting for. Today's debacle on the Irish border issue shows that it is still not possible to predict if there will be an agreement on the terms of Britain leaving or if the country will crash out of the EU and be forced into WTO rules. Anything that results in a hard border in Ireland will be a disaster.
