My optimism is anecdotal. Two lifelong, normal, old school relatively well off (retired military) republican golf buddies can't stand Rubio, Scott, desantis or trump. They rarely talk politics and I avoid it because I like them both. They have daughters and granddaughters. One blames money in politics and the other blames the media for the state of things. We were in the 19th hole having lunch. A Val Demmings ad was on the TV. "I like her." "Me too." I nodded. (We all live in the Orlando area so she is familiar.) Just sayin '.
