If Kweisi Mfume had won the Democratic nomination for the 2006 MD US Senate Race, [View all]

It would have be an interesting black-D vs black-R US Senate race to watch.
Kweisi Mfume-D vs Michael Steele-R. Mfume would have won in the November General Election due to MD being a blue state and 2006 being a Democratic wave election year. Steele was a much serious Republican nominee in MD than Herschel Walker was in GA.
Mfume narrowly lost the Democratic nomination to Ben Cardin and is now back in the US House of Representatives.
