16. My wife's rural parents had no official internet options but dial-up and satellite.

The dial-up was very slow, over phone lines that were probably last upgraded in the 'sixties.

My sister-in-law discovered if she held her own cell phone in just the right spot she could connect to the internet.

My in-laws now connect to the internet through a cell phone provider, even though they are outside the provider's official coverage map. Their little wifi hotspot machine lives in that sweet spot.
