I did not have to do the part with the number to copy down then use. I just googled *how to change ring time on [phone model] phone* and did what the Google results said to do. I'm on T-Mobile with an Android phone. I was able to extend my ring time from 20 seconds to 30 seconds, and it helps a lot.
