I love Apple products as much as anyone here, having used them for over eight years now.
That being said, these 
marketing geniuses really need to get it through their heads that stunts like these really diminish the Apple brand.
People should not have to go out and spend a bunch of money on new cords, adapters, dongles, etc every couple years. Apple can have the greatest operating system on Earth but it doesn't mean squat if no one wants to buy their machines anymore because it requires spending a large amount of money on the newest version of the accessories to plug in to the system.
