This is a hard won day of victory -- even if there are days of hard work ahead. I have complete faith that he will insure that things remain on track.

There is something perfect that this happened in Switzerland right at this time of year. Spring, the season of renewal is the setting for Persian New Year, Easter and Passover. One (of many) themes of all of them is the renewal of the world.

With Switzerland, all I can think of is his beautiful letter quoted in Tour of Duty that spoke of how he used thoughts of the peaceful, beautiful nature of the area he went to school in - speaking of how he longed to be outside in the gorgeous weather instead of inside looking at algebra on the blackboard - to help him deal with life in the horrors of Vietnam. It is so nice that he will now have two memories of helping the world avoid violence from Switzerland - the Syrian chemical weapons deal in Geneva and this one.

With this framework, I hope that means that he and his family have the time to celebrate over Easter. (Wouldn't it be cool if Pope Francis mentions this and wishes them success in getting the final deal? )
