It would be sad at any time, but he is so needed right now, though it would seem he could continue to be involved remotely - especially on the Iran negotiations where he knows all the players. Matt viser, Boston Globe, had an interesting twitter comment. They could move the negotiations to Boston.

It is interesting to consider. He posted that Moniz lives in Brookline.
