I think women should stop buying them and wearing them because they're painful and bad for the ankles, knees, hips and back.
That being said, I have to admit to a guilty pleasure: I like how they look. It's not their effect on their leg either, it's the posture the rest of the body takes.
And I tend to really respect women who can move gracefully on them. No easy thing.

I think they do make women look sexier, but I encourage women not to wear them all the same.
