When graduating seniors in high school are asked what they want to "be", the most frequent answer is an internet influencer. Between automation and artificial intelligence eliminating millions of former career paths, no final positive outcomes (pensions, savings opportunities) after a lifetime of work, why would anyone want to do extra for their paycheck? Your employer's only goal is maximum profits, not workers well being. Survival isn't an incentive. Just sayin '.
