Taxes for 2019 [View all]

We met with our accountant today to get a fix on what we might owe for 2019. I swear this federal tax law is nuts. We have never owed before, but we will in 2019. I kept our deductions the same, increasing the extra amount so we matched what was taken out in 2018. He estimates that we will owe around $1000 in April, so the tax "reduction" the republicans put through has done nothing for us. If we had kept our deductions what they had lowered them to be our paycheck would have been larger and we would have owed MORE money than the 1000.

Are there some people who are going to be surprised by their taxes this time around? I swear it is all smoke and mirrors to give the rich people the money and the rest of us the shaft.
