Bellevue College in WA is fast becoming my favorite school! [View all]

Not only does this school have an Occupational and Life Skills degree program for intellectually disabled students, they now also have a program that offers support services to autistic students. They will receive help developing executive functioning, social interaction, self advocacy, and self regulating. They will have direct communication with teachers, weekly meetings trained peer mentors, and take classes toward the Occupational and Life Skills degree or take classes toward any other degree the college offers. They are also partnering with Central Washington University to bring the program for autistic students to CWU. I also heard that Houston TX is looking to adopt an Occupational and Life Skills program for their intellectually disabled students. These programs are so great and news about them spreads fast. I hope programs like these are adopted all over the country.
