As the bird experts in the article attested, either we kill the barred owls, or accept that several native Western owls will go extinct. Peaceful coexistence doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Personally, I've reached the point where maybe we DO have to start accepting extinctions, as horrible as that sounds. We are in the early stages of a mass extinction event, after all.
