Our species' existence is a speck on the evolutionary timescale, "lower" order species seem to survive what would end the rest of us.

OK, we're the species most capable of ruining our entire planet. But, "advanced"?

No, I think that we're so adept at ruining things that we're first in line for the grand correction coming this way, and deservedly so.
