In the Sierra foothills, it was 102 yesterday, and a wildfire erupted just outside Mariposa. Power was out for 24 hours, much of the county, and i cooled one room with a window a/c to conserve propane running the generator. (power came back last night) 107 today and the San Joachin Valley runs 8 to 10 degrees hotter.

I got groceries before 10:00 am.

Palm Springs broke its record of 123 by one degree.
