6. I'm OK when the power is back online. A/C is keeping up.

CA summers are bone dry, so the heat and a little wind are real trouble.

I live on a ridge, rather clear of trees, which is dandy for fire safety, but a bit of a solar heat load.

First day I was here, Cal Fire was making the rounds and asked that the slope near the west side of the home be cleared of brush.

I started, but it had a lot of poison oak, so I hired a crew to finish the job (the low stuff) right away.

I've since gotten way better at recognizing it.

Life has its surprises.

Thanks, everyone I know up here is OK.

And we get snow here in the winter.

Unbelievable sunrises and sunsets with only mountains in the background.
