Mother Earth News (IIRC, Canada had a similar publication called Harrowsmith) Back in the 1970s. I was a kid then, and haven't thought about it until now. Have to check it out, thanks. If you live in town, your choice is electric or natural gas. If you live in the sticks, it is what you have. I know a guy that has a coal chute and boiler that has been since his grandparents replaced the sod roofed homestead with the house about 100 years ago.
